I have my vanity web site but I am not a frequent poster there because NetIdentity charge way too much for anything useful. There are some people with the same name out there that I would like to be disassociated with completely. Some guy who is into martial arts, body building and has a criminal record. A psychic reporter guy. A dodgy dietician guy selling suspect products.

However my nickname googles exceedingly well, as there is nobody else who uses it as far as I know. People should consider not using their real name but associating themselves more with a handle/nickname and using that at every opportunity.

If you’re naming your kid – consider a weird spelling; eg a silent letter in their name. If you are naming your kid John then you better have a fricking good reason for your complete lack of imagination.

             (via neoporcupine’s blog)

How well does your name Google?
