Instead of using plastic and glass lens elements stacked over an image sensor, Metalenz&#8217;s design uses a single lens built on a glass wafer that is between 1&#215;1 to 3&#215;3 millimeter in size. Look very closely under a microscope and you&#8217;ll see nanostructures measuring one-thousandth the width of a human hair.
