More than 800 people died after being told they owe a debt to Centrelink, but the government has said it would be “foolhardy” to link the notices with the deaths without further evidence. New data shows 2030 people have died after receiving an initial robodebt letter, which doesn’t set an amount to be paid back, but asks them to confirm their previously submitted income information. Of those that were told they did owe money to the department, 812 have died.

I agree with Minister Michael Keenan. This is just stating a set of unrelated facts. The real test is if Keenan pushes for an investigation into any relationship, or tries to delay/prevent it.
