Spurwinged Plover: aka Masked Lapwing or Masked Plover. Not particularly happy with me in the back yard approaching their nest. Note the nasty looking spurs on the wings. Kids are told and will tell you that they are venomous, and you’ll die a tragic horrible death should the spur even scratch you.
