NewsCorp calls for Google to be broken up. If NewsCorp wants it, then it has to be a bad idea. Usually. Guessing this is a stick they want to beat Google with if they cannot get their way. Interestingly, I note that the arguments for NewsCorps’ case for busting up Google also apply to … NewsCorps.
Google says Australian law would put search and YouTube at risk. Which is only party of the story; it would actually be a lot worse – giving the highly partisan propaganda machine of NewsCorp excessive powers of influence while making unreasonable profit.
Please, Google, add a switch on the front page of your search engine to allow us pleb users to exclude all results from NewsCorp (and options for all the other corporations that want in on this law).
